The safari specialist Real Africa is celebrating their 15th Anniversary this year. They are also celebrating winning the Best UK/IRL Tour Operator To Africa and the Indian Ocean (direct sell) award at this year's SATOA Travel Awards.

The annual awards celebrate excellence in tourism to Africa and the Indian Ocean and are voted for by the general public as well as members of the travel trade with Victoria's BBar being attended by many of the industry's leading personalities.

Hosted by SATOA Deputy Chairman, Tessa Bott, the awards provide an excellent barometer to performance and popularity over the preceding 12 months. Nine awards were up for grabs – from leading tour operator to finest safari experience.

As Tessa said, "It's pleasing to see the number of exciting new names nominated and collecting the awards this year, but plenty of past winners were also proving tough to beat. These Awards continue to emphasise SATOA's position as a vibrant and dynamic trade organisation promoting travel to Africa from the UK".

All the team at Real Africa are delighted to win the award for a second year and extend their thanks to all their supporters.

Real Africa's 15th Anniversary year is being marked by a sequence of special events, starting with a sell-out evening in aid of the conservation charity, Save The Elephants, being held at the Royal Geographical Society on 8 October with special guest and star of BBC series 'This Wild Life', Saba Douglas-Hamilton.

Real Africa will also be representing the charity and promoting their work at a number of key travel shows including the Conde Nast Luxury Travel Fair in November, the Telegraph Travel Show in January and The Times presents Destinations (London & Manchester).

In addition Real Africa is offering a number of special 'conservation' safaris which include a direct donation on behalf of the client from the Real Africa Trust to Save The Elephants. These safaris range from a 3 night fly-in experience to Elephant Watch Camp in Samburu National Reserve where guests can witness first-hand the work of Save The Elephants, to a longer trip incorporating a stay in the iconic Masai Mara at the home of the Mara Elephant Project, Richard's Camp, with a stay at Saba's camp, Elephant Watch, in Samburu.

3 night Samburu Elephant Conservation Fly-in Safari - from £2,725
6 night Samburu and the Mara Conservation Fly-in Safari - from £4,995
