Russell Village Clean Water Project Completion Announced by Hope Spring

Hereford water poverty alleviation charity, Hope Spring, announced the completion and handing over of its latest clean water project intervention on April 12th 2023. The project, dubbed the Russell Village Clean Water Project, was completed earlier this year, at Russel village in Sierra Leone, in West Africa. Hope Spring, working with their contractor Benson Kandeh, agreed on a contract to build four boreholes in some of the most deprived rural communities in Sierra Leone. The Russell Village Project will provide safe, clean water to up to one hundred people in Russell Village and the surrounding communities for years to come.

Working with Mr Kandeh’s local knowledge, Hope Spring were able to identify communities that will get the maximum possible benefit from their clean water outreach. Russell Village was one of the lucky beneficiaries in a country where clean water is not available to all.

Speaking about the project, Hope Spring eCards platform manager Seun Olonade said, “Naturally, I am very pleased about the completion of the Russell Village clean water project." What pleases me even more is the fact that our eCards platform played a significant role in funding the project”. A lot of the funds for Hope Spring project are raised through their ecards donation, particularly their business charity Christmas eCards section, which tends to do very well in December.

Hope Spring water sanitation and hygiene projects in West Africa have provided thousands of people with safe, clean water. The Russel village project is one of five borehole projects they hope to complete by the end of the first quarter of this year.
