Ross-on-Wye Coffee Morning Raises Over £242 for Hope Spring Clean Water Project

Community fundraiser at Bridsow Community Hall will help support Hope Spring Water’s latest borehole project in Northern Nigeria.

ROSS-ON-WYE, Herefordshire, 6 August 2026 — A community coffee morning organised by St Bridget Church Tuesday Coffee Morning has raised more than £242 for Hope Spring Water, helping to support the charity’s next clean water project.

The fundraising event took place on 6 August at Bridsow Community Hall, near Ross-on-Wye. Members of the local community came together over tea, coffee and biscuits while raising money to help provide access to clean, safe water for communities in need.

Funds were raised through donations made during the coffee morning, with some attendees giving additional contributions specifically towards Hope Spring Water’s clean water work. A raffle held during the event also helped increase the final amount raised to more than £242.

Hope Spring trustee and regular attendee of the coffee morning, Peter Dowsett, played an important role in supporting the fundraiser. Together with his wife, Chris, Peter has helped raise thousands of pounds for Hope Spring Water over the years.

Fellow Hope Spring trustee Temi Odurinde attended the event to accept the donation on behalf of the charity and thanked members of the community for their continued generosity.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone at St Bridget Church Tuesday Coffee Morning and to all those who donated,” said Odurinde. “Every contribution helps us move closer to providing a community with reliable access to clean water. The money raised will go towards the borehole project Hope Spring is currently working on in Northern Nigeria.”

Odurinde also pledged to return to the group with an update on the clean water project supported by their donations.

“It is important that people who support our work can see the difference their generosity makes. We look forward to coming back and sharing with the group how their donation has contributed to providing clean water for people who need it.”

The latest fundraiser continues a longstanding relationship between the Ross-on-Wye community group and Hope Spring Water. It is the third time in the past five years that St Bridget Church Tuesday Coffee Morning has raised funds for the charity.

The continued support demonstrates how small community fundraising events can contribute towards practical clean water projects and make a meaningful difference to communities facing water poverty.
