Rock Giants Muse To Play Out Ischgl's Winter Season
Top ski resort Ischgl has today announced that award-winning rock giants Muse are to perform their legendary Top Of The Mountain season closing concert.
The British band scooped their second Grammy award for best rock album last weekend and will feel on top of the world when they perform the open air lunchtime concert on Ischgl's mountain top stage at 2300m in the Austrian Alps on Saturday 30 April – the penultimate day of the Tirolean resort's five month long ski season.
Muse has a reputation for delivering an exciting and energetic live performance and the trio of Matt Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard will have the added edge of a dramatic alpine backdrop to showcase hits such as Survival, Starlight and Psycho plus others from the award-winning album Drones.
Concert admission is included in the 95 Euro skipass price for concert day – compared with the regular day pass price of 46.50 Euros – but regular rates apply for four day passes and more. The season closing concerts typically attract crowds of up to 20,000.
Skiers and boarders flock to Ischgl for snowsure late season skiing, thanks to the ski arena's high altitude, extensive snow-making facilities, state-of-the-art lifts, 238kms of groomed piste and reputation for world-class entertainment. Muse will join Ischgl's impressive Hall of Fame for TOTM concerts, including Robbie Williams, Elton John, James Blunt, Rihanna and – most recently – The Beach Boys, who opened this successful winter season at the end of last November.
