QA launch Blended Learning Experience to break down the barriers of employee training

News provided by QA Ltd on Thursday 4th Sep 2025

QA, the UK’s largest provider of technology and digital skills training, has announced the next step in the evolution of smart workplace learning, with the launch of its Blended Learning Experience (BLX).

BLX combines self-paced digital content with live virtual instructor-led training (VILT), in a truly blended format – all delivered seamlessly via the QA Learning Platform, marking it as a first of its kind in the market.

Tackling the cost, complexity and time challenges of workplace learning

The launch is at the leading edge of the market of learning modalities, in response to pressing market data:

  • 52% of learners cite limited time as the biggest barrier to effective learning.
  • 60% increase in knowledge retention is observed when learning is collaborative.
  • Organisations waste an average of £18 million annually due to fragmented tools.

QA believes it’s time for a new approach. Their Blended Learning Experience offers a scalable, flexible, and collaborative approach to workforce training that addresses the key challenges of time constraints, fragmented tools, and poor learner engagement.

“Traditional training models no longer meet the pace or complexity of today’s workplaces. Organisations need more ways to learn; that’s a critical aspect of the value we offer.” said Ben Sweetman, SVP of Learning Products at QA. “Blended Learning Experience is built to solve that - combining flexibility, collaboration, and consistency in one seamless platform.”

How Blended Learning Experience works:

  • Combined modalities for a holistic experience: Learners move effortlessly between self-paced modules and live virtual classrooms.
  • Built by experts: All BLX content is authored and delivered by QA’s 450+ in-house subject matter experts.
  • Designed for real-world impact: Collaborative learning environments improve retention and application of skills.
  • Streamlined delivery: Organisations reduce platform complexity and cut costs.

The initial rollout of BLX includes a number of popular courses, now available in the new blended format, including ITIL® 4 Foundation, APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), and BCS Business Analysis.

Sweetman urged businesses to be the first to take up this new and improved approach to upskilling:

"We think blended is going to be great for our customers. Saving them time, and also saving costs. BLX pricing offers up to 19% savings compared to traditional instructor-led learning formats. What’s more, the increased effectiveness of this modality means that completion of learning takes an average of 33% less time. Both critical advantages when upskilling is such an urgent priority."
