Put a spring in your step: provide a walk for Bristol Walk Fest this May!

Sign up by 23 February to be listed in the Bristol Walk Fest programme

Organisers of Bristol Walk Fest are encouraging community projects, local organisations and walking groups to sign up as walk providers for the festival in May.

The deadline of 23 February allows 8,000 copies of the printed programme to be designed, checked, printed and distributed at the start of April, all around the city.

Bristol Walk Fest manager, Karen Lloyd, says

“In terms of the walks, there are very few rules - walks must happen during the festival month of May, take place within the Bristol boundary, and Ideally be free or offer a Walk Fest discount.

“In addition providers must have Public Liability Insurance and complete a risk assessment, for the safety and protection of participants and providers.

“We provide resources for our walk providers, with all the guidance and information you need, including useful checklists, templates, logos and social media banners. We are very happy to support anyone who has not done this before, so if you have questions just get in touch.”

Previous years have seen a wide range of themes and walk focusses: mindful walks; pirate trails; poetry and literary themes; walks of architectural or cultural interest; walks focussed on Black history and Queer history; walks in hidden or lesser known parts of the city; urban and rural explorations; early morning and nature-focussed walks; street art tours; walking sports; and casual strolls with a chat. Let your imagination be your guide!

Signing up to the festival’s provider database, whether you wish to lead a walk this year or next, will mean you receive news, links to resources, and are kept up to date with Walk Fest news.
