Promwad – the leader of electronics design for the IoT in the CIS region – enters the European Union market
Millions of people around the globe enjoy the products designed by the company's engineering team
Promwad, an independent electronics design house, enters the EU market with its contract electronics design and manufacturing services. The company has a registered office in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, to accelerate and simplify the support for its European customers. Now, it is focused on the Internet of Things and mobile gadgets, acting as a technological partner, creating new products and developing software for the likes of Fujitsu, Marvell, and Texas Instruments.
Promwad is of Belarusian origin, and its registration in the EU opens the doors for broader opportunities in the European market. The company's new office is within a 2-hour drive from their R&D centre in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. Therefore, selecting Vilnius as the next location was a logical decision. The Promwad team members speak fluent English, and they can communicate with clients without any language or border obstacles. The company is also represented in Canada, Denmark, Russia, and China.
Promwad provides a turnkey electronics development service, meaning it can grasp the customer's idea, literary from a 'scratch on a napkin' and complete the task by delivering a product consignment to the customer's door. Promwad first develops a concept, followed by hardware and software development, then designs an enclosure for the device, culminating in a prototype and a pilot batch. After debugging any issues, if necessary, it then launches mass production of the product.
Promwad has already completed more than two hundred custom projects. Currently, millions of people around the globe enjoy the products designed by the company's engineering team.
The Lapka sensors for iPhones is one of their success stories. The gadgets were sold in the USA, Canada, and Russia. The set included five sensors to conduct measurements of radiation, nitrates in fruit and vegetables, air humidity, temperature, and electromagnetic fields. The sensors are paired with a smartphone. Promwad developed an enclosure construction, conducted a pilot batch and prepared the sensors for mass production. Airbnb, an American internet giant, monitored the success of this project and acquired the Lapka start-up last year.
Promwad Electronics Design House provided its services to mature companies and startups, and has subsequently released ten IoT design projects. It assisted them in their market expansion with engineering support, namely, developing new mobile devices. The following are some examples:
Glucometer: a device for measuring sugar level in blood
The engineers of Promwad designed a new product for their customer, a glucose gauge. It works with Android and iOS based smartphones or tablet PCs via an audio jack. The gadget collects blood and tests it for sugar. Then, it displays the results on the app screen. The app is connected to the cloud and generates both reports and recommendations for doctors and patients alike. There are no similar glucose gauges in the CIS countries. It supports both mobile platforms and stands out on the world market.
Bluetooth sensors network
Parrot, a Paris-based company, assigned Promwad to develop a small device with integrated Bluetooth sensors to collect and transmit data to a server. The new device had to operate in a network with the 'Parrot Flower Power' mobile gadgets which acquired measurements of lighting, temperature, humidity, and soil fertility, helping users take care of their plants.
The IoT (Internet of Things) industry, which Promwad confidently works in, has great potential worldwide. The consumers market is growing as vendors expand their sales of IoT-focused electronic components. There are various forecasts claiming that the IoT market will be worth up to €6.4 trillion in 2020, and it will connect together more than 34 billion devices around the globe.Press release distributed by Pressat on behalf of Promwad, on Thursday 14 April, 2016.
