Ecuador’s first encounter with Australia at an international level
The Ecuadorian Football Federation will give a press conference at 9:00am on Monday 3rd March 2014 at the Parliament Suite of the Marriott Hotel County Hall, Westminster, London - ahead of the friendly match against Australia.
The press conference will give the President of the Ecuadorian Football Federation Luis Chiriboga, accompanying executives and key football team players an opportunity to share their thoughts in the lead up to the FIFA World Cup 2014 and Ecuador’s first encounter with Australia at an international level , set to kick off at 8:00pm GMT on Wednesday 5th March 2014 at The Den, London.
Ecuador led by Manchester United midfielder Antonio Valencia is currently ranked 24th on the FIFA World Cup Rankings facing France, Honduras and Switzerland at the World Cup 2014 after finishing in 4th position in the final round of the South America qualifying CONMEBOL.
The opposing team Australia, set to begin the FIFA World Cup 2014 with a match against Chile, is keen to take on this challenge against the Ecuadorian team without Captain Lucas Neill and fellow veteran Mark Brescian under coach Ange Postecoglou’s decision to try out a squad of “a new golden generation".
