P4D customers round up their pound to raise over £10,000 for UK charities
News provided by P4D | Parcels 4 Delivery on Wednesday 30th Apr 2014
Courier booking agent Parcels 4 Delivery has reached the £10,000 milestone as a result of its customers rounding up their pounds.
The firm, which provides both businesses and individuals with the ability to book one of a range of courier services through their website at a reduced rate, has a continuous scheme in place that allows customers to round up their order to the nearest pound, with the extra funds being donated to charity.
The initiative, which has been in place since May 2012, sees P4D selecting a new charity every three months, with all of the money raised within those three months being donated to the charity in question. Previous charities to benefit from the generosity of P4D customers include the Teenage Cancer Trust, the British Heart Foundation and BBC Children in Need, with Dogs for the Disabled set to receive the money raised between April and June 2014. The firm is keen that as many charities as possible benefit from the initiative, and ask charity workers to contact them if they would like to be considered.
Parcels 4 Delivery acts as a courier booking agent, holding contracts with every major courier firm. For both businesses and individuals, the P4D service is simple to use: details of the parcel are entered into the P4D website, with instant quotes given for UK, European and international parcel delivery. With a high volume of parcels passing through P4D every day, the firm is even able to offer lower rates than going direct - which are passed directly on to the customer. The range of services offered by P4D include parcel delivery, pallet delivery and document services, all of which are offered via road, air and sea.
P4D also offer over 7,000 drop off points around the country, in addition to the option of courier collection, and have a dedicated customer service team, who are also available out of hours and at weekends for any customer queries.
Chris Black, Managing Director, says "We are thrilled that our customers are getting behind our fundraising efforts, and that we've now managed to raise over £10,000 thanks to their support. Our current charity is Dogs for the Disabled, and we hope that our customers will join us in continuing to raise vital funds for this and our future causes."
