Night of Festivals - Workshop Participation Opportunity!

British-Iranian artist Alinah Azadeh http://www.alinahazadeh.com has been specially commissioned to create Freedom Square, a new art installation for Night of Festivals Touring (opening Nottingham 13 September) with FREE public participation! ArtReach is seeking participants for FREE artist led workshops on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th September at Nottingham Contemporary & City Arts to help create this intriguing artwork!
The workshops, which involve graffiti style block printing and stencilling, are suitable for all ages!

Saturday 7th September
NOTTINGHAM CONTEMPORARY (10AM TO 6PM)
Workshop One: 10.15 to 11.45
Workshop Two: 12.00 to 1.30 Family drop-in sessions 12.00 & 12.45 (ages 5+)
Workshop Three: 4.00 to 5.30
Sunday 8th September
CITY ARTS (10.30AM to 2.30PM)
Unit 6, Provident Works, Newdigate Street, Nottingham, NG7 4FD
Workshop One: 10.30 to 12.00
Workshop Two: 1.00 to 2.30
Night of Festivals http://www.nightoffestivals.com has been created and produced by ArtReach to celebrate the values of freedom and democracy through artistic innovation. The Festival includes vibrant and colourful carnival interventions, live music, spoken word performance, dance, visual arts installations, digital arts, and moving image from around the world.
There is a live performance Dome, the quirky ArtReach Nanoplex gallery (housed in a converted caravan!) and a special storytelling “yurt” to provide great interactive stimulus for the whole family. Night of Festivals Touring will begin a year-long touring programme with its new presentation in Old Market Square, Nottingham on 13 and 14 September. Artist Alinah Azadeh says: ‘ My surname – Azadeh – translates as ‘the free one’, so it’s a real gift for me to explore – with others – what this actually means on a personal, social and political level. My love and use of textile stems from its ancient connection to human story and I hope that the work Freedom Square can act as a broad and rich canvas of visual stories and insights into the themes of the festival unfolding below and around it’.
