Neighbouring Birmingham Charities Seek Daredevils for Brindley Place Abseil
News provided by Little Hearts Matter on Tuesday 22nd Apr 2014
Two Birmingham-based charities will be joining together to celebrate landmark anniversaries with a joint abseil down Three Brindley Place this June.
Little Hearts Matter, which provides support and information to those affected when a child has only half a heart, will be joining forces with Edward’s Trust, which supports children and families facing loss and bereavement.
Both charities are now seeking participants for the abseil, which will run from 10am till 4pm on 8th June. Participants are required to pay a £35 entry fee and raise a minimum sponsorship of £100. The event promises to be a lively affair with entertainment running throughout the day.
Lydia Ellis, Marketing Manager at Brindley Place, has said
“It’s great to see two charities working together in partnership to raise much needed funds for the Birmingham community. I would urge people to sign up and get involved but if you haven’t got a head for heights then please do sponsor those taking part for these great causes.”
Little Hearts Matter, celebrating their 20th Anniversary as a national charity, are in the unique position of having watched the first generation of children grow up with only half a heart after surgical breakthroughs made it possible over 20 years ago.
Edward’s Trust, celebrating 25 years as a local charity were formed by Hilary and Peter Dent after the death of their son, aged 7, in 1989. Both charities will be using funds raised to continue the life-changing support they provide to children and their families.
