Ford’s Stephen Odell named UK’s most influential person in motoring
The key figures in the British motor industry have been revealed in the Auto Express Brit List 2014. Now in its third year, the list celebrates the 50 most influential UK players in the global automotive business.
The Brit List, which appears in the 4 June issue of Auto Express, celebrates the homegrown talents that are making a huge difference to the cars we drive, how and where they’re made, and their design and engineering.
And taking this year’s top spot is Ford’s President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Stephen Odell.
“Stephen hasn’t shied away from difficult decisions in some of the toughest times for Ford, dealing with closures and delaying the new Mondeo by two years. He’s helped turn the European operation around and has truly made his mark on the motor industry,” said Steve Fowler, editor-in-chief of Auto Express.
In second place is Mike Manley, President of Fiat Chrysler and Chief Executive of Jeep, who led the US off-road brand to spectacular sales success in 2013. And in third is Alan Batey, Executive Vice-President of General Motors, who is responsible for GM’s massive US operation.
