The Choir with No Name are delighted to announce a new charity partnership with local housing group, Sovini.
Sovini’s sponsorship and support will help the choir deliver their biggest ever performance – ‘The Big Autumn Gig’ - at St George’s Hall, Liverpool at the end of October.
The Choir with No Name Liverpool, who rehearse every Wednesday at Liverpool’s Bluecoat and sit down together for a hot meal afterwards, is for people who’ve experienced homelessness or are vulnerable.
Members face challenges ranging from mental health problems to relationship breakdowns and drug or alcohol addictions.
The choir sing uplifting pop songs and aim to build confidence and skills among members, creating an environment where people can form lasting, genuine friendships and set themselves on the path to a positive future.
“We are delighted to have the Sovini Group supporting our Big Autumn Event. It makes such a difference having a great friend in our corner. We provide a space each week for people to leave their worries behind for a few hours and enjoy singing together, and it’s surprising what an impact this can have on people’s confidence and ability to cope in the world. With Sovini helping us make this event a great success we can grow that confidence even further and we hope the people of Liverpool will join us on the night to sing our hearts out for a very special local choir” Ema Quinn, Choir Manager Liverpool.
Choir member Anastacia Marshal said: “I’m singing my heart out to some great tunes, just to make sure my voice is ready for the stage. I’m so excited I can barely contain myself! I’m counting down the hours."
Sovini Chief Executive Roy Williams said: “We are delighted to support The Choir with No Name Liverpool and the valuable work they do in our community. By working with local partners we are helping to combat homelessness and support those affected by it. The choir provides a supportive, fun environment for its members and we want to do all we can to help them.”
The Big Autumn Gig takes place at St George’s Hall on Friday 28th October, with guest performances from the Ukelele Club and the Liverpool Signing Choir.
The performance starts at 7.30pm, with tickets £12 and £7.50 concessions available from www.thebluecoat.org.uk/content/tickets.
