Manchester Charity Providing Dates for Refugees Worldwide, Helping Fulfil Islamic Traditions This Ramadan
In the same way that we open fasts with dates every night, we believe every family deserves to do the same.
With Ramadan approaching fast, Global Rahmah Foundation (GRF) is distributing dates worldwide, allowing refugee families around the world to fulfil the Islamic tradition during the blessed month.
Opening fasts with a date is an Islamic tradition that Muslims strive to fulfil. Last year, the charity distributed dates to Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, allowing them to take part in the Ramadan tradition. The charity hopes to reach even more families this year.
What GRF Says
“With Ramadan approaching, our focus remains on ensuring families have food to keep and break their fasts with. However, we also recognise the desire families have to fulfil Islamic traditions, especially those living through conflict or poverty who don’t always receive the opportunity or have the resources to do so.”
“In the same way that we open fasts with dates every night, we believe every family deserves to do the same, regardless of where they live. That’s why we’re distributing dates to refugee families in need.” - Global Rahmah Foundation
