One of our projects, Innovocare, has become a supportive interactive instrument in the delivery healthcare field. As our customer told us, there is a real need for improvement in the calculation and visualization of real expenses and service costs. The fact is that sometimes even health facility owners can’t figure out how much certain medical care costs (without even getting into consultations or surgery), or how much the internal expenditures total for certain treatments.

To overcome this issue, Magora has developed a management tool. It traces expenditure patterns step by step and includes some more interesting features to facilitate financial governance.

When this customer addressed us for the first time, he wanted very simple, but well-designed software which would help to make extensive diagrams (so-called “trees”) of expenses on each patient or on each medical project, to collect data. Healthcare delivery usually starts with an initial reception and then procedures follow. Our program allows users to write down each action in terms of financial costs and human resources (how many doctors and nurses are necessary). Also, users or administrators can add unplanned spending (in cases of problems with diagnosis or surgery). Then all this data is summarised and the staff can see an overall picture, the value of a whole process from beginning to end and also the time it requires. It’s very important, because these indicators usually define reasonable prices in healthcare, so all ambiguities are removed.

A modern version of the development process, based on d3.js diagrams, was used in this project. Additionally, Magora’s team offered to include different profiles for several user groups, which will help control workflow on different stages, with an access to the system through manager or administrator authorisation.
