Local legal community come together to support free legal advice for Citizens Advice Eastbourne.
In these difficult times, with the Cost-of-Living Crisis, our work is more necessary than ever.
The London Legal Support Trust (LLST) is excited for the return of the Eastbourne Legal Walk on Monday 26th June 2023.
The 10km sponsored walk unites members of the Eastbourne legal community, who will be raising both awareness and funds for the provision of free legal advice to some of the most vulnerable members of the community in and around Eastbourne.
In 2022, the Eastbourne Legal Walk raised £2,400. Demand for legal advice services has risen dramatically over the past year. The rising cost of living has heaped immense pressure on legal advice agencies who are struggling to cope with such unprecedented demand. By joining the Eastbourne Legal Walk, you can help to ensure the people of your community have fair access to justice, and the beneficiary agencies can keep the lights on and the doors open for the people who need them most.
Michael Frayne, Chair of Trustees at Eastbourne Citizen’s Advice, said, “The advice that Citizens Advice gives helps 1000s of people every year. In these difficult times, with the Cost-of-Living Crisis, our work is more necessary than ever. Your donations enable us to continue to help the most vulnerable in our community.”
Bob Nightingale MBE, Head of Fundraising and founder of LLST, remains more passionate than ever that the sector needs support and funds in a year that has seen austerity and hardship increase. He commented, “Citizens Advice in Eastbourne are under tremendous pressure from the increase in need caused by the dramatic increase in the cost of living. Funds raised by the walk are vital. Thank you to all the teams who have signed up so far and those who have made donations –we are looking forward to walking shoulder to shoulder in Eastbourne.”
Teams will begin to arrive from 4.30pm, with the walk starting at 5pm, for the spectacular coastal route starting at the Citizens Advice office on St Leonard’s Road. The walk ends at the seaside View Hotel with a free drink’s reception.
LLST welcome any organisation, or individual, who is passionate about the fantastic cause of supporting their local community. There is still plenty of time for new teams to join. LLST will set up a fundraising page and send regular newsletters in the lead up to the event, so you have all the fundraising tips and logistical information you need.
