Local charity invite supporters to “Face their Fears” this Halloween

This Halloween local children’s charity MedEquip4Kids are asking supporters to take on a challenge that scares them to make hospitals a less scary place for children. The children’s charity, based in Manchester, not only provide medical equipment to local children’s wards, but play facilities, gardens and other resources to improve the hospital experience for children too.
Senior Fundraiser at the Charity, Paul Cocker, has kick started the appeal by taking on his own challenge and will hold a real life snake.
“The challenge is easy, pledge to do something that scares you this Halloween, get your friends and family to sponsor you and then take a picture of you doing it and upload it on social media. It could be anything really, visiting a haunted house, holding a spider or climbing Blackpool Tower if you’re scared of heights. For me its snakes. They just don’t look right do they? I will be holding a real one at our Scary Creature Show”.
MedEquip4Kids are asking people to take on their own challenge, but for anyone scared of snakes, spiders or other creepy crawlies the charity will be holding a Scary Creatures Show at the Longfield Suite, Prestwich on Saturday 29 October. Tickets are £15, but will be free for anyone who raises more than £30.
Paul added “We thought it would be a good way of raising vital funds, while having a bit of fun. To be honest I’m not sure how much fun holding a snake is going to be for me, but will certainly entertain the rest of the office!”
To take part in the challenge simply set up a Justgiving page. You can also tweet your photos to @MedEquip4Kids using the hashtag #FaceYourFears. Anyone raising £30 or more will receive a free t-shirt too. To find out more please contact Paul paul@medequip4kids.org.uk or visit the website www.medequip4kids.org.uk
