Learn to Talk Like a Pirate at Pirate's Quest for International Talk like a Pirate Day

News provided by Pressat Wire on Wednesday 26th Aug 2015

September 19th 2015 marks the 14th International Talk Like a Pirate Day, a global event which urges people around the world to have a bit of fun and spend 24 hours talking like a pirate... but not everyone knows how to properly talk like a pirate, so the crew at Newquay's newest attraction, Pirate's Quest, have embarked on a mission to teach visitors how to sound like an authentic buccaneer in preparation for Talk Like a Pirate Day.

From Saturday 12th to Sunday 20th September, Pirate's Quest will become a 'Pirate Academy' with the goal of teaching landlubbers their 'ports' from their 'starboards' and their 'ayes' from their 'arrrs' as they enjoy the hour long, walk-through, adventure.

Visitors will be rescued from the sinking Royal Anne by a LIVE Pirate, who will then escort them through the authentic Cornish coves and streets, to the old town of Towan Blystra where Captain Calico Jack has made port. But before stepping foot onto Captain Jack's ship, the Neptune, landlubbers will first have to prove that they can talk the talk before becoming a true crewmate and a proper pirate.

Along the journey, learn what buccaneers eat, what rules they have to obey, and most importantly, how to talk like a pirate. Follow a special 'Pirate Academy' treasure trail - use your newfound knowledge of pirate lingo to uncover the secret word, and be rewarded with some of Calico Jack's treasure and an official Crewmate Card to prove that you're an honorary member of the crew and a professional pirate.

To celebrate this 'Talk Like a Pirate Day 2015', do more than just talk like a pirate, but meet real buccaneers and become a member of a swashbucklin' crew.

You don't need to dress like a pirate, but you'll have more fun if you do!
