Know AML – AML World Awareness Day, April 21, 2022
Know AML is the first global education and awareness initiative that provides patients and caregivers with the information, resources, and support they need to deal with acute myeloid leukemia (AML)—a rare aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow which is the most common form of acute leukemia in adults. Know AML formalized AML World Awareness Day on April 21, 2017.
On April 21, 2022, we will continue to campaign, together with our global network and community, to increase understanding of AML and bring attention to the resources available. Know AML is asking people to get involved with our AML World Awareness Day campaign, Know Your Diet. More information, details on how to get involved, and resources can be found here.
Everyone can make a difference on AML World Awareness Day, and beyond, by downloading and sharing our ‘Know Your Diet expert interviews’, following the Know AML social channels, and using the hashtag #KnowAML. Get involved online and offline and encourage colleagues and friends to do so too!
“Raising awareness of AML in the global community, teaching, learning, coordinating, and creating access to best practices is key for improving outcomes. I am an AML survivor, inviting you to participate in the global initiative to Know AML.” Valerie Fons, AML Survivor and Know AML co-chair.
“CancerCare is excited to be part of the Know AML initiative. This year’s topic of diet and gut bacteria is incredibly important to those dealing with a cancer diagnosis, and we are honored to be taking part in this awareness day.” Christine Verini, Chief Operating Officer at CancerCare.
Please visit the Know AML website for more information on the Know Your Diet campaign, as well as resources and information to support patients and caregivers in the AML community worldwide.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please do not hesitate to get in touch via our social channels or email.
