Manchester based Kirsty cites Eckhart Tolles The Power of Now as the main inspiration for her writing the track:
"With 2012 being such an uncertain year,'Cool Down Rewind' is a reminder to myself and others, to make sure that we give each passing moment our full attention, to slow things down in this hectic world and to sometimes just watch the simple beauty of life unfold around us."
Kirsty featured recently in a ten-minute documentary on BBC1s Inside Out. In it, she discussed the independent path shes following, building a sustainable career as an artist with her uniquecottage industry approach - after walking away from a recording deal with a major label.
Press:
"An artist who has to be seen live to be appreciated on stage, with her band in full bawdy flow that she flourishes." Caroline Sullivan, The Guardian
"Kirsty Almeida is a strikingly original singer-songwriter." Gavin Martin, Daily Mirror
"An artist to treasure. Delicious." Simon Gage, Daily Express
"Class and a rather delicious sultriness ooze from Kirstys warm tones. She shows such a light touch with her melodies and intelligent lyrics that you almost dont realise how brilliant she is." Stefan Kyriazis, Star Magazine
