KeySIM Continues to Disrupt the UK IoT SIM Market with New £1.50 SIM Rental and £0.0025 Per MB UK Data Tariff

KeySIM, a UK provider of multi-network IoT SIM cards, has announced new pricing for UK businesses deploying more than 100 IoT SIMs.

The new commercial offering provides UK businesses with multi-network IoT SIM cards for a monthly rental fee of £1.50 per SIM, with UK mobile data charged at just £0.0025 per megabyte on a true pay-as-you-go basis. Businesses requiring connectivity across both the UK and Europe can access KeySIM’s UK and European IoT SIM service for £3.25 per SIM per month with EU data charged at £0.008MB. 

Unlike many traditional IoT connectivity offerings, KeySIM customers are billed only for the services they actually use. There are no minimum contract terms, meaning SIMs can be cancelled at any time. UK SMS messages and voice calls are charged at £0.05 per message and £0.05 per minute.

KeySIM’s multi-network IoT SIM cards connect to all four major UK mobile networks — Vodafone, O2, EE and Three — helping to maximise coverage and resilience for business-critical deployments.

Crucially KeySIM offer unsteered SIM Cards, allowing connected devices to automatically connect to the strongest available network as selected by the modem. This is in contrast to  steered IoT SIM's that have a preference list and according to KeySIM are more prone to disconnections after deployment.   

Customers can also manually steer SIMs to a preferred network where required, providing additional control during planned maintenance, localised outages or service issues affecting a particular network operator.

Customers can also benefit from an optional fixed IP address service, enabling secure remote access to CCTV systems, industrial equipment, telemetry devices, routers and other connected assets.

The commercial benefits of KeySIM’s pay-as-you-go model have already been realised by CSC Security Consultants, one of Ireland’s leading security and CCTV providers who which migrated from Data Pools to KeySIM in 2022. 

Following a review of historical usage, CSC Security Consultants discovered that approximately 27 per cent of the data being purchased under its previous pooled arrangement was effectively being wasted because it was never used.
