Inspire Awards 2015 – a worthy Entrepreneur of the Year

Here at DCSL Software Limited we are thrilled to announce that Nick Thompson, our Managing Director, is one of three finalists for Entrepreneur of the Year in the Inspire Business Awards. The Inspire Business Awards celebrate the success of local businesses in North Hampshire. The awards are open to those from across the region and will ensure leading local businesses (both large and small) gain the recognition they deserve for themselves and most importantly for the dedication and commitment of their staff. More specifically, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award will be presented to someone who demonstrates drive, commitment and impressive business success within the north Hampshire region.

The awards dinner is being held on Thursday the 12th of November at Highfield Park Hotel in Hook.

The Inspire judges are looking for an individual who has the ability to create a self-sustaining and successful business, who can demonstrate creativity and 'thinking outside the box' to build and grow a business, and one who has the ability to identify opportunities and develop them through initiative, strong organisational skills and the acceptance of risk. Nick was nominated because he was recognised for these achievements, and is a perfect example of how someone with enough desire and drive can achieve anything. Starting as a teenager before even leaving school in 1997, he started working at DCSL Software as a self-taught programmer, persevering through the mundane jobs that came with his initial junior role, making his talents known to his employers and showing grit and determination as well as value to DCSL. After many years of hard work and dedication, he had the opportunity to buy out the company in 2013. Since then he completely restructured it, employing over 30 people in 18 months (still rising!) with revenues and profits close to doubling as a result. The company has become a major tech-employer in the Farnborough area.

Nick's inspiration came from a real passion of IT and technology which acted as the drive for his success. From a young age Nick's programming talents were obvious, and immersing himself in the world of technology allowed him to succeed in this business where others may have failed. His real understanding and passion towards the industry means that as an experienced software developer and software architect himself, he understands perfectly the way his clients' businesses run and what he needs to do to progress businesses further through Bespoke Software development.

We wish Nick the best of luck, the nomination is fully deserved and he has the full support of everyone at DCSL Software behind him. Fingers crossed he can go one further and win the award!
