Rozlyn Spinks, formerly Ethics Manager at Deloitte joins the Institute of Business Ethics

The Institute of Business Ethics is delighted to announce that Rozlyn Spinks is to join our team as Head of Advisory Services on 17th October 2016.

The IBE, which was formed in 1986 to encourage high standards of business behaviour based on ethical values, is facing an increased demand for its practical advice and experience in helping organisations strengthen their ethics culture and build relationships of trust with their principal stakeholders.

The Institute’s subscriber base has grown significantly and now includes 17 of the top 20 FTSE100 companies as well as over 30 overseas headquartered organisations. The Head of Advisory Services is a new role, crucial in maintaining the high quality advice and advocacy the IBE provides for our corporate subscribers and the wider public.

Commenting on her appointment, Rozlyn said “I am thrilled to be joining the team at the IBE and excited to build the advisory practice further. The ‘critical friend’ of the IBE has proved invaluable in my own work and I look forward to utilising my experience gained across multiple sectors to contribute to its outstanding practice and reputation.”

Philippa Foster Back CBE, Director of the IBE said: “This is an important time for the IBE. As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary, business needs to do more to rebuild trust and secure its place in society. This is not just a question of addressing specific problems but of instilling the right mind-set throughout business organisations. Our practical advice and support is more in demand than ever and Roz’s experience will help us meet this increasing demand for our advice, publications, research and training.”

With a background in psychology, education and criminological research, Roz brings a range of knowledge gained across a variety of sectors, including both public/private and corporate. Combined with the experience of living and working in numerous countries and communities, she brings key areas of interest including the social and psychological determinants of behaviour and decision-making.

Roz has been in her current position at Deloitte for 4.5 years and led the creation and delivery of the Ethics Code refresh and associated programmes of research and resource management. She brings to her new position a focus on the concept of legitimacy in leadership and how that may be adopted to cement strong ethical practice throughout organisations.

As a qualified trainer, previous roles have included teaching in the adult sector, leading an applied behaviour analysis programme for individuals with special educational needs as well as serving a large client base for a corporate recruitment company.

Roz spent twenty-two months studying Arabic in Syria, and now spends her spare time supporting Syrian Solidarity UK. She is also working on her first novel by pursuing a course through the London School of Journalism.
