How to maximise the potential of test automation

Step 1: Choose the right testing tool

In a world where testing and quality assurance accounts for as much as 26% of the total expenditure of IT budgets¹, test automation is still a vastly under-exploited resource. This can in part be put down to the myriad of frameworks and tools available, the choosing of which can be a tricky and even daunting decision-making process that must also factor in compatibility, ROI, cost and the specific needs of the project.

For test automation to deliver on its promises, it is essential to choose the right framework and optimal set of test automation tools.

Tech experts facing this challenging journey are invited to attend an interactive, insightful session on Tuesday 16 October 2018 that will examine the pros and cons of automated testing, with a panel of experts and industry leaders sharing key learnings from real-life examples.

Within the context of the mainstream introduction of practices such as Agile, DevOps, Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Development, what framework and toolset should you choose for your automation?

To help answer this question, invited speaker Mario Matthee, Head of SQA Architecture and R&D: Global Testing Solutions at software development and testing company DVT, will be sharing his findings, insights and battle scars as he tackles the question of how to identify and use the latest automation tools. Mario has been studying this topic for a number of years and has published numerous articles and papers on the subject.

This will be followed by a panel discussion, facilitated by Bruce Zaayman, Director: Client Engagement, DVT UK. A selection of clients who have embarked on the automation journey will be encouraged by Bruce to share their views and assessment of their test automation journey, discussing the tools that they chose and how they made these decisions.

Attendees can expect an intelligent, lively discussion with perceptive key learnings from thought leaders both on the panel and in the audience.

If you are already having the discussion within your organisation, or anticipate it, this forum will provide an excellent opportunity to bring your test automation questions to the table in a relaxed, open environment with like-minded individuals. The event takes place from 18.30 to 21.00 at the centrally located, well-appointed WeWork Mansion House in Queen Street, London.
