Hospice chosen for Co-op Local Community Fund

News provided by St Andrew's Hospice on Tuesday 5th Feb 2019

This year, St Andrew’s Hospice has been chosen to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund.

At a time when funds for charitable organisations are becoming more difficult to access, we’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity to make a real difference in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

We are raising funds to set up a bereavement service to support children who have lost siblings, parents or grandparents. You can view the details of this cause here: membership.coop.co.uk/causes/26170

Bereavement of an individual affects all those connected with the loss of a loved one. Children can often feel forgotten whilst adults work through their grief. The Child Bereavement Service will help children to understand, and families & family groups realise that together they are stronger and can be the long term support they need to begin to rebuild their lives.

To help us raise vital funds, we’ll be relying on Co-op shoppers. Every time they buy Co-op own-brand products they get a 5% reward for themselves, and a further 1% goes to local causes like ours.

Co-op Membership works and contributes to the fund every time a member buys selected Co-op products and services and 1% of the money they spend goes to a local cause in their community.

Co-op members can decide which local group they would like to back by going online www.coop.co.uk/membership. We really hope that people will visit the website and choose to support us.

If you’re not a member and would like to support us, you can join at your local store or online at www.coop.co.uk.

When a community comes together we’re able to achieve great things, so we hope you can help promote our project. For more information about us, please visit www.standrewshospice.com.
