Hope Spring Launches WASH Talk Podcast Series

Clean water, sanitation and hygiene charity, Hope Spring announced the launch of their podcast WASH talk on Tuesday the 9th of May. The Hereford based clean water advocacy charity announced the launch on their blog . WASH talk is hosted by Bolu Olorunfemi, one of the charity's volunteers. In the first episode, the host discusses clean water and other challenges facing Hope Spring in particular and other water, sanitation and hygiene charities in general, particularly those working in Africa.

Commenting on the launch of WASH Talk, Hope Spring trustee and founder Temi Odurinde said “we have been looking for ways, other than our website, to share news about our work with a new audience for a while. We eventually decided to use podcasting as the platform to reach new audiences.” Mr Odurinde added that “about 20% of global internet users listen to podcasts regularly, which means potentially, we can reach more people with news and information about water, sanitation and hygiene”.

The maiden episode of WASH Talk is now online. It featured a conversation between the podcast host Bolu Olorunfemi and Hope Spring trustee, Temi Odurinde. They discussed the WASH sector as well as their organisation's upcoming pledge auction. They also discussed the challenges charities face when fundraising for a new project.

A second podcast is expected in June 2023. In the June episode, Ms Olorunfemi will be speak with Hope Spring eCards platform manager Seun Olonade, on how the platform’s virtual anniversary eCards has contributed to their organisation’s revenue growth. The podcast host, Bolu Olorunfemi said “I am very pleased to have been chosen to front this podcast. It gives me an opportunity to help Hope Spring move forward in their clean water advocacy as well and get to have conversations about the sector with knowledgeable people in the sector”. Ms Olorunfemi has been volunteering with Hope Spring for more than three years.
