Hope for Children appoints new Chief Executive
"HOPE enables children to regain their childhood. I can't think of a more inspiring cause to be a part of!"
Hope for Children (HOPE) are delighted to announce that Murielle Maupoint has joined the charity as their new Chief Executive. She has replaced Simon Jackman, who left the organisation after 20 years of service.
Murielle joins the international children's charity with extensive experience in the sector, having been Chief Executive of a youth homelessness charity. She not only managed to rapidly expand the number and breadth of their services, but also achieved a number of major accolades including the Andy Ludlow Award, Investors in People, Champions of Learning, National Training Awards and UK Charity Awards. Murielle's other roles have included co-founding Encouraging Women into Franchising, an advice, advocacy and education NFP and Non-Executive Director roles for Heathrow City Partnership – a social regeneration agency and Victim Support. Murielle has also worked in mental health and the criminal justice systems. Her insatiable appetite for entrepreneurship, innovation and learning, has led Murielle to run her own companies – developing eco-lodges in South America and West Africa and delivering motivational training and leadership coaching services whilst also launching publishing and crowdfunding businesses. She joins HOPE armed with a multitude of skills, expertise and experience that will stand the organisation in good stead as we move forward into 2015 to ensure HOPE's portfolio of programmes reaches more children across the world.
HOPE's Chair of Trustees, Neil Robertson, said in a statement:
"The next year or two are going to be very exciting ones for the charity and we will need energy, passion, innovation and clear leadership to achieve continuous improvement. Murielle's strong leadership skills, strategic thinking and extensive NFP and commercial business background are ideal to continue to develop and grow HOPE as we look ahead to a bright future."
Murielle Maupoint, said:
"I am thrilled to be part of Team HOPE - an impressive charity, with an outstanding team that delivers life changing services to some of the most vulnerable children in the world. Whilst the world rejoices in many comforts, advances and innovations, for far too many the reality of daily life is desperately grim. HOPE enables children to regain their childhood. I can't think of a more inspiring cause to be a part of!"
Hope for Children, which was founded in 1994 by Dr Bob Parsons OBE, aims to build a sustainable future for the children and communities it serves. In the past year, over 44,000 children and their families have benefitted from the charity's work.
