Editor’s Notes:

Recognised as one of the best independent fish and chip restaurants in the UK, Poppies Fish and Chips of Spitalfields opened across from the world-famous Spitalfields Market in 2011, before expanded to its sister location of Hawley Crescent, Camden in May, 2013.

Begun as a labour of love for master fryer Pat ‘Pop’ Newland, Poppies combines traditional East End fish and chips with retro decor and a fun, relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of London’s postwar rebirth.
