The ‘LENSTAR Biometry E-learning Course’ is now available for customers completely free of charge, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It can be accessed by users through the Haag-Streit Academy E-learning Portal, and will ensure clinicians are getting the most out of their LENSTAR system.
The ‘LENSTAR Biometry E-learning Course’ is split into 3 sub-courses, consisting of interactive modules, user guides and short training videos. It covers ‘Biometry Basics’, ‘EyeSuite User Guides’ and ‘Instructional & Lecture Videos on LENSTAR Biometry’.
‘Biometry Basics’ consists of nine short modules which focus on the importance of good biometry practice to ensure optimal outcomes for patients undergoing cataract surgery. They cover; the anatomy of the human eye, the principles of biometry (both optical & ultrasound), topography, IOL calculation formulae and RCOphth/NICE guidelines.
The ‘EyeSuite Biometry User Guides’ sub-course features 42 short user guides which provide information about using the EyeSuite i220.127.116.11 software platform in conjunction with the LENSTAR biometer.
‘Instructional & Lecture Videos on LENSTAR Biometry’ consist of a series of 25 videos at both basic and advanced levels. Topics include taking measurements, such as axial length and keratometry, as well as more detailed instruction for performing IOL calculations. The lecture video series features extensive content covering the groundbreaking Hill RBF IOL calculation method, which utilises AI, as well as lectures from Key Opinion Leaders, discussing LENSTAR biometry, surgical planning and Toric IOL calculation methods.
