Free Wellness Health Checks available to celebrate launch of new service

PillBox Chemists Pharmacies are continuing in their quest to make the UK healthier by launching a new ‘Wellness Health Check’ service.

Company CEO and Founder Davinder Virdee says: ‘We want to take some of the weight off the shoulders of GPs and the NHS, and offer people access to affordable health checks with no waiting times. So rather than struggle to book a GPs appointment for a simple health check, let us do it for you.’

PillBox Chemists excellent Wellness Health Checks will include: Blood Pressure, Heart Rhythm, Full-body Composition scan with a BMI, Visceral Fat Distribution, Lung Function, Cholesterol check, Blood Glucose check, and your Metabolic Age data. Pillbox have chosen to use the Tanita Medical grade body scanner as part of the service to deliver a detailed body scan showing fat distribution, visceral fat, BMI highlighting a risk scale.

“Heart Rhythm with IF risk” is being checked using the Zenicor device. PillBox are delighted to work in partnership with Zenicor and use this medical device to deliver a high grade ECG which is sent directly to a trained Cardiologist to assess any abnormalities immediately with a report back to the pharmacist team within 24 hrs.

PillBox Chemists in collaboration with a team of Cardiologists and Pharmacists have developed a innovative “wellness health check” with a focus on cardiovascular health with a recognised pathway for patients identified as high risk. The service has many benefits for the patient reducing the need for people to suffer whilst waiting for a GP or NHS appointment.

The company is excited to develop this service and strongly feels the future of pharmacy depends on developing services such as this in collaboration with a range of health care professionals reducing our dependence on dispensing with a stronger focus on services in line with the NHS Plan.

Wellness Health Checks will be offered FREE to people attending the launch event on Wednesday 20th November 2019 at Broadway Parade, Coldharbour Lane, Hayes UB3 3HF.
