PillBox Chemists Pharmacies are keen to help their local residents beat back the winter flu and colds by offering flu jabs without appointments - just walk into any of their branches, and get yourself protecting against viral winter outbreaks.

Their website has a handy branch locator where you can find your local pharmacy and they can be found at over 25 locations across the South of England.

Company MD and Founder, Davinder Virdee, said: 

“We wanted this year, to be as flexible and helpful to our local communities as possible, and our team decided together that appointment-free Flu jabs were one of the ways we could achieve that aim.”

The injected flu vaccine is offered free of charge on the NHS to people living in the UK who are at risk of catching flu and developing serious complications. The NHS advises that you should have the flu vaccine if you:

• Are 65 years old or over
• Are pregnant
• Have certain medical conditions
• Are living in a long-stay residential care home or another long-stay care facility
• Receive a carer's allowance, or you're the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill

It’s worth noting that all frontline health and social care staff are also eligible to receive the flu vaccine, with employer's having the responsibility to arrange and pay for the jab.
