First UK Multi-Couple Festival Wedding July 2022

Barnutopia Glamping & Venue and the Shropshire Registration Service are to host the first multi-couple festival wedding in the UK. The stunning glamping venue attracts 5-star reviews and hosts ceremonies in a wedding barn, the farmhouse or outdoors. OSWESTRY, UNITED KINGDOM, May 21, 2020 – Shropshire glamping, wedding and event venue, Barnutopia plans to host a multi-couple festival wedding in 2022. The event is scheduled for the weekend of 1-4 July (3 nights, Friday to Monday) with a group wedding and legal ceremonies taking place on Saturday. The event is fully catered and includes accommodation for couples, street food vendors, reception drinks, wedding cakes, venue dressing, bouquets and buttonholes, photographers, videographer, bands, DJ, other entertainment and more. Four unconventional couples will participate in a unique wedding experience with 35 family and friends each at significantly lower cost than arranging their own festival wedding.

Katrina Boydon, co-owner, hit upon the idea of a group wedding when thinking about how to generate new business following postponements this year due to coronavirus. She found that nothing on this scale has been done before in the United Kingdom. The last group wedding in 2012 was for 6 couples who exchanged vows at the Guildhall, Bath. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a buffet reception. The gorgeous setting and facilities at Barnutopia make it perfect for a more extravagant festival wedding weekend. Boydon said,

“The more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. A festival wedding with all the trimmings is too expensive for many couples. By splitting the cost, we can offer a lavish wedding weekend for under £10 K per couple.”

Barnutopia is licensed for wedding ceremonies, so Boydon contacted the Shropshire Registration Service to see if a 4-couple group wedding is feasible. She was delighted to receive a positive response. Shropshire Registration Service manager, Karen Burton, said,
