Grayson Perry's 'doodle' auctioned for epilepsy charity

Turner Prize-winning British artist Grayson Perry has put pen to paper for Epilepsy Action's National Doodle Day auction. The 'doodle' is currently live in an eBay auction.

The artwork joined those by Natsko Seki, Sir Peter Blake, Sir Alan Ayckbourn, Stephen Hough and dozens more in the National Doodle Day eBay auction. Children's writers including Shirley Hughes (Dogger), Raymond Briggs (The Snowman, Fungus the Bogeyman) and Anne Fine also contributed drawings. The main auction closed on Sunday 7 February, raising over £8,000 for the charity.

Grayson's doodle is featuring in a specially extended auction. This will close on Thursday 11 February at 7pm UK time. The proceeds will help Epilepsy Action support the 600,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.

Holly Rawlings, doodler in residence at Epilepsy Action, said:

“We are excited and honoured to have received Grayson Perry's support. The 'doodle' is an absolute work of art. This is the fourth time that Grayson has doodled for National Doodle Day and the money raised supports our work for people with epilepsy all over the UK."
