Falmouth Oyster Festival's Gourmet Night
News provided by Rocket Pop PR on Monday 7th Oct 2013
Falmouth is your oyster…
The Falmouth Oyster Festival celebration, sponsored by St Michael’s Hotel & Spa, is gearing up for a shuckingly good time from 10th -13th October. Celebrating all things maritime with a host of Cornwall’s most delicious natives including TV presenter James Strawbridge, 7th Rise founder Thom Hunt and global baker Dean Brettschneider the festival is set to be bigger than before. With music, street food, cocktails and of course oysters galore the festival marks the start of the oyster dredging season, and Falmouth is one of the last fishing industries who do this under sail and oar.
The festival begins at St Michael’s Hotel starting with their Gourmet Festival Night on Wednesday 9th October, 7pm in the award winning Flying Fish Restaurant overlooking the sea. Meet the chefs and special guests showcasing the very best of Cornwall’s food and drink produce. Make sure to grab tickets to the event (£49 available at the hotel) on 01326 312707 before they are snapped up.
Whet your appetite with the Gourmet Festival Night Menu featuring a Bloody Mary sorbet, Falmouth Bay Oyster and fresh lime to start the evening. A piscatorial feast of six sublime seafood inspired courses.
Finish up the long weekend with a Sea Shanty lunch on Sunday 13th October – a delicious three course lunch, with the sonorous sea shanties singers serenading you whilst you dine and drink in the superb views from St Michael’s Flying Fish Restaurant.
