Disability charity makes plans for people to ‘go red’ for Giving Tuesday
They are asking for businesses, community groups and fundraisers to Go Red, Bake Red or Wear Red, in honour of the red Wizzybugs.
Designability hope to raise enough to fund a whole new Wizzybug powered wheelchair for disabled children under 5 as part of Giving Tuesday on Tuesday 3 December 2019.
They are asking for businesses, community groups and fundraisers to Go Red, Bake Red or Wear Red, in honour of the red Wizzybugs.
The charity build their Wizzybug powered wheelchairs for children under 5 in a small workshop in Bath and have now helped nearly 750 families in the UK to access a free wheelchair for their young sons and daughters who are unable to walk because of their disability.
This ‘People’s Wizzybug’ will cost £4,850 to fund and will help three children. As they reach certain fundraising levels throughout the day, they will release exclusive behind the scenes footage of their workshop team putting together a brand new Wizzybug. It will be a real ‘inside the factory’ look at what’s involved in the design and engineering of a medical device that transforms so many children’s lives.
