Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović meets with Swiss Ambassador Anne Lugon-Moulin

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović met today with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation, H. E. Anne Lugon-Moulin, who is accredited on a non-resident basis with headquarters in Belgrade.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between Montenegro and Switzerland. Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed his gratitude for Switzerland’s continuous support for Montenegro’s foreign policy priorities, particularly in the context of European integration and regional development. Ambassador Lugon-Moulin commended Montenegro’s reform efforts and its progress on the path toward European Union membership.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the enhancement of bilateral cooperation, including activities related to the opening of the Embassy of Montenegro in Bern, which will contribute to strengthening political and economic ties between the two countries.

The interlocutors also addressed economic cooperation, as Switzerland has been among the largest foreign investors in Montenegro over the past five years. Additionally, they explored opportunities to improve air connectivity between the two countries, considering the significant number of Swiss tourists visiting Montenegro as well as the sizable Montenegrin diaspora in Switzerland.

Special attention was given to key regional and global issues dominating current international relations, with both parties emphasizing the importance of dialogue and cooperation in addressing shared challenges.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović thanked Ambassador Lugon-Moulin for the ongoing cooperation and expressed confidence that, through joint efforts, Montenegro and Switzerland will continue to strengthen their relations in all areas of mutual interest.
