Dementia Awareness Training in the Community - Reach the person behind the disease.

News provided by Alzheimers Dementia Support on Monday 27th Apr 2015

Who are we:

Alzheimers Dementia Support ('ADS') is a local charity operating in Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead, Slough & Langley and we provide a wide range of support through the delivery of a wide variety of services specifically designed for People with Dementia, their Carers and families. We have also devised an informative and interactive 2 hour training program, aimed at raising the awareness of Dementia within our local community. In addition, our training program has been designed to demonstrate how seriously the disease affects the lives of the many people it touches.

The Dementia Awareness Training:

Our training is avaiable to all in the local area and has been designed with public facing organisations in mind to empower employees giving them knowledge and understanding of how People with Dementia may behave and how best to serve their needs with confidence and empathy. The session covers facts and figures, explanations of the disease, a DVD, discussions on handling challenging behaviour and is complemented by a comprehensive information pack to take away.

All proceeds help 'ADS' to continue providing support for those People with Dementia and their Carers within our LOCAL Community.

Availability at each session will be strictly limited and therefore an early booking is strongly recommended.

Book your Dementia Awareness Training Here

Private Training & Bulk Bookings

You can bulk book 1 to 25 people to a public event.

We can bring Private Training to your facility for large numbers (10-25) of delegates at a cost of £260...that's just £10.40 per person for 25 delegates.

Follow Up Training:

Following completion of our training, some attendees may be considered eligible to, at a later date, join a "Train the Trainer" session, as in so doing these individuals will be empowered to share the important lessons they have learned, with colleagues within the greater structure of their own organisation and/or environment.

Testimonials
"A great service, giving a real insight into dementia. Hopefully even if just a little information can be taken away by all that attend it will help in society." Legal Exec
"I was at a presentation last night at Berks Search & Rescue given by 'ADS'. It was the best talk I've seen in years and certainly helps us understanding the condition more. Thanks very much" Mel BLSAR

WHAT WE DO AND WHY

Alzheimers Dementia Support 'ADS' is a charity which offers constructive practical guidance and a wide range of services to help people in the local community whose lives are directly or indirectly affected by Dementia.

We strive to make a difference by helping those affected cope better whilst giving them the opportunity to experience a little joy and laughter in their difficult lives.

'ADS' have one simple aim – to directly provide a much wider and consistently developing range of services and support specifically geared to meet the current needs of individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease here within our local community, both for People with Dementia and also their Carers in equal measure.

All of the funds raised by 'ADS' are solely utilised locally to support these local people.

WHO WE HELP

There is an ever growing number of People with Dementia and their Carers within our local Community of Windsor, Maidenhead, Ascot, Slough and Langley who can benefit from our services.

Throughout the time since our inception in 2011, members of the 'ADS' team have successfully touched the lives of an ever growing number People with Dementia and their Carers and in so doing, have been able to, often dramatically, improve the quality of these people's lives. We also continue to support Former Carers and welcome their valuable input and involvement with our services.

The team's sole aim is to continue reaching out to more people locally and help them to cope with the difficulties of living with this disease through the delivery of high quality, enjoyable Services, whilst assisting with supporting their sometimes critical guidance and information needs.

We use any/all forms of communication to increase the awareness of 'ADS'.
