Cri du Chat Support Group echoes Jo Whiley’s comments regarding Covid Vaccinations.
Those with a genetic disability have seen a disproportionate number of deaths due to Covid and we have to ask why.
CHESTER, FEB 18TH 2021 - Jo and Frances Whiley have highlighted the problem many individuals with Cri du Chat Syndrome are having currently accessing Covid vaccinations for their loved ones and immediate support network.
Those with a genetic disability have seen a disproportionate number of deaths due to Covid and we have to ask why. There is a significant underlying issue with regard to genetic and learning disabilities, health inequalities and access to health care. This pandemic has exposed these issues.
We therefore ask the government and the JCVI to urgently prioritise the vaccination of all those with a genetic and learning disability in an attempt to reduce any unnecessary harm to our families.
