CHILDREN'S CHARITY BRISTOL PLAYBUS PROVIDES MOBILE SENSORY TRUCK –TO TRY OUT FOR 1 DAY ONLY
News provided by Bristol Playbus on Wednesday 30th Oct 2013
Children’s charity Bristol Playbus have been shortlisted to receive one of four awards of £50,000 on the The People’s millions (a partnership between ITV and the National lottery.).
Playbus have a vision to create a mobile sensory room incorporating the best of the latest technology designed to give magical experiences for disabled children and their families, taking their services directly to the doors of those who are most in need.
Why are we doing this ?
Disability in some deprived parts of Bristol affects as many as 16% of children –three times that of the general population.
In our own survey -financial barriers and access to transport were cited as the two biggest barriers to accessing specialist services. By providing a FREE , mobile service The Sensory Truck promises to address both these barriers in one go, improving the quality of life for disabled children and their families across the region,
FINAL POINTS So how can you help ?
To demonstrate what a service like this could look like, we have managed to borrow the only other Sensory Truck of it’s kind in the UK and we will be parked outside St.Paul’s Adventure Playground this Thursday (31st October), FROM 11:30am – 2pm.
So come along on and find what it’s all about out and see for yourself how you can support our bid to secure £50,000 on The People’s Millions.
Watch The Playbus Sensory Experience on ITV’s ‘The People’s Millions’ on 25th November at 6.30pm during the ITV Westcountry news
and vote by phone for one day only.
