Theatre charity launches online money workshops to support young disabled people during the cost-of-living crisis.

Surrey based theatre charity, Head2Head Sensory Theatre, has launched new online money management workshops to support young people with disabilities during the cost-of-living crisis.

The interactive online money management workshops, which begin on 3rd January 2023 use drama, games, role play and improvisation, to explore real life money experiences such as preparing to visit the shops, budgeting for things and saving for the future.

Kate Harriss, Head2Head Sensory Theatre’s Drama and Workshop Facilitator, said: “Understanding how money works is a very important life skill everyone should have access to. Young people with learning disabilities want to live independent lives and that means having confidence in their relationship with money.

“Head2Head Sensory Theatre’s ‘My Money Mastered’ workshops will prepare and support young people during the cost-of-living crisis, using dramatic scenarios to equip them with the tools to be more financially independent.”

‘My Money Mastered’ workshops will run over 6 or 12 weeks and enable young people to take control of their wellbeing by giving them the tools to be more financially independent.

The workshops will be hosted online and will use games and activities as well as dramatic scenarios and improvisation. The series will include guidance on how to budget for known expenditure and how to prepare for unexpected costs.

Young people will also have a space where they feel comfortable, and can share ideas and information, as well as their experiences about finance and spending in an informal environment.

Kate, continues: “The aim is that, at the end of the series, each young person will feel more confident about living independently and saving for the future, it’s going to be a fantastic programme!”

Candidates can choose from one of two courses to help build the confidence they need to become more financially independent. A six-week course costs £18 per person, and a 12-week course £36 per person.

Courses start on 3rd January 2023 and continue through to May 2023. To book a course visit:
