Channel 4 Film, Going to the Dogs, is a Sanitised Depiction Told from a Biased Perspective
Following a screening invitation from the producers of the advertised Channel 4 film, Going to the Dogs, which is to be aired tonight at 9pm, please find a statement from PETA below:
It is well recognised by sociologists and law enforcement that sociopaths invariably start by taking their issues out on puppies or other animals who can't defend themselves and then go on to harm human beings as well. They see nothing wrong with – and may even be excited by – abusing animals, whether for their own twisted sense of amusement or for financial gain. Going to the Dogs is a sanitised depiction of the dogfighting world told from a biased perspective, but the film has a worthy closing message: those of us disgusted by this blood sport should take a look at our own relationship with animals, including the intelligent and sensitive pigs, cows and others raised and killed for food, who certainly feel pain and fear as much as the dogs suffering in dogfighting rings.
