CGN Wind Power joins Global Wind Organisation
Globally leading windpower owner operator commits to GWO Standards
PRESS RELEASE – 9 July 2020, Beijing/Copenhagen – CGN Wind Power has today joined Global Wind Organisation, accelerating the industry’s global effort to strive towards an injury free working environment.
With over thousands of employees in China, 14.32GW of wind energy installed and a growing footprint in key markets across China, CGN Wind Power will commit to using GWO standards for its workforce where appropriate and will contribute directly to their development going forward.
GWO members like CGN Wind Power collaborate to develop and set minimum standards for safety and technical training. The training is delivered by large employers like CGNWP and a growing network of more than 350 independent certified training providers in 40+countries around the world. Almost 90,000 people had a valid GWO training record by 31 December 2019.
In addition to becoming members of Global Wind Organisation, CGNWP has invested in its own GWO Certified Training Centre in Tianjin, which will provide safety and technical training for the company’s growing workforce and other third parties from the wind energy supply chain.

GWO is a non-profit group of wind turbine owners and wind turbine manufacturers, committed to the creation and adoption of standardized safety training and emergency procedures.
