Avid boxing fan and CEO at Goldstream Incorporated, Dan Coolican is excited about the upcoming bout between undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and mixed martial arts biggest superstar Connor McGregor.

The fight between the two sporting icons is unprecedented as the boxing and mixed martial arts worlds collide. Set to take place on August 26th in Las Vegas, the bout is one of the most anticipated fights in history. The money-spinning fight will mark McGregor’s professional boxing debut. Mayweather has won all 49 of his professional fights and goes into the event as a massive favourite with bookmakers.

Mr Coolican is a massive fan of the charismatic Irishman. However, the entrepreneur and director at Goldstream Incorporated recognises that McGregor is untested in a boxing ring. “McGregor has never had a professional boxing fight, and the ring is far different to the octagon. McGregor is used to facing the prospect of five, five-minute rounds, however against Mayweather, one of the best defensive boxers in history, he has the possibility of twelve, three-minute rounds, that alone is a massive obstacle,” commented Mr Coolican.

McGregor isn’t frightened to enter untested waters, as he became the first fighter in UFC history to hold both the featherweight and lightweight championship belts simultaneously. He also has an imposing UFC record, of 18 wins and 2 defeats. That record includes 16 knockouts, 1 submission and 12 first-round finishes. The Irishman has boldly claimed that he will knockout Mayweather.

“Mixed Martial Arts and Boxing are two completely different propositions commented,” Mr Coolican. Speaking about the upcoming fight, the boxing fan stated: “while boxing is a part of McGregor’s MMA skills, going up against undefeated boxing legend Mayweather, is a tremendous feat for a seasoned pro, never mind someone who has never had a professional boxing fight.”

Mayweather is the overwhelming favourite going into the fight. However, Mr Coolican believes that people shouldn’t right off McGregor. “On paper, Mayweather is a dead cert to take his professional record to 50-0, however, in professional fighting, anything can happen and there has never been a fight like this. No matter the outcome, I am excited to see these two sporting legends go head to head,” commented Mr Coolican.
