Bureau Veritas Nexta and CorrosionRADAR Announce a Multi-Year CUI Monitoring Contract for a Leading Company in the Petrochemicals Sector.

Bureau Veritas Nexta, an engineering and consulting company within the Bureau Veritas group, has extended the perimeter of the collaboration started in the Middle East with CorrosionRADAR, a leading supplier of predictive corrosion monitoring and management solutions, to Europe in order to offer an integrated monitoring solution for Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI).

This collaboration extends Bureau Veritas Nexta's decades of experience in risk based inspections (RBI) through a data-driven and predictive approach that bridges the gap between current quantitative and qualitative risk management, creating optimised inspection programs. This enhances the value delivered to customers by ensuring safer operations, integrating multiple components, and optimising economic performance and return on investment for greater reliability.

Through the execution of a risk assessment at the customer’s plant in Puglia, Bureau Veritas Nexta identified the critical asset, that would benefit from the implementation of CorrosionRADAR's monitoring system, which enhances the data acquisition and monitoring process, adding substantial value to the entire operational chain.

The collaboration between Bureau Veritas Nexta and CorrosionRADAR has contributed to the identification of an asset at the customer's plant, on which to carry out the study of critical parameters in order to anticipate the failure, and at the same time reduce direct and indirect costs associated with CUI management up to 52%.

CorrosionRADAR's patented CUI monitoring solution along with wireless, battery-powered tools, significantly simplifies its deployments at a large scale. The data is displayed on an online dashboard where risks are identified even before the corrosive damage occurs. This is an example of how in the Industry 4.0 era the advantages of Industrial IOT (IIOT) technology applied to structured predictive maintenance methodologies can be used to the fullest.

With this solution implemented on a storage tank, it is expected to provide significant cost savings over a period of ten years.

Furthermore, the data that is collected and analysed by experts will enrich the value of the RBI studies by creating predictive and dynamic inspection and maintenance programs.
