Brits say no to bus pants as nearly half of holiday-goers have no trust in public transport

Almost a half of Britons have said they would avoid using public transport as a reliable option of travel when going on holiday a new survey has found.

The online survey of 4,667 British holiday-goers revealed that 47% said they would never rely on the bus or train to arrive at the airport on time as they believe they would miss the flight or being be cutting it very close.

Parkat, the company who commissioned the survey said it believed this distrust was due to an overload on the public transport networks and the ever increasing feeling of commuters being “ripped off”.

“With the privatisation of many modes of public transport and the price of fuel on the rise, trains and especially bus companies are incorporating more stops into the routes which seems to be heavily delaying some travellers”

“Simply hopping on the bus no longer seems to be a reliable way to get to the airport on time”

“When the fuel prices are bumped up we witness a sharp increase in the number of holiday goers searching for airport parking via our website. At first thought this seems rather strange, but on further research through our recent survey reveals that the cost to convenience ratio is just not there anymore resulting in people making their own way” said Matthew Lobas from Parkat.

With Brits spending an average of £554.40 on their holiday, missing their flight due to public transport is not an option. This becomes paramount when families are finding it ever more difficult to save up for these breaks in the first place.

It seems that Brits are increasingly hanging up their bus pants in favour for driving to the airport rather than paying for public transport.
