Warren Collins is Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year 2013
Simpson Millar LLP’s head of Catastrophic Injury, Warren Collins has taken home not one but 2 prestigious awards in the past week.
Warren Collins is Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year 2013
At the Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards 2013 last night, Warren was awarded Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year. This award is given to individuals who consistently take on and succeed in challenging cases, who demonstrate outstanding client care and whose achievements are widely recognised by their peers.
Now in its 6th year of celebrating leading individuals the legal and personal injury community, the Personal Injury Awards recognise those who deliver an outstanding performance – inspiring others by constantly raising the bar of excellence. As one of the country’s pre-eminent personal injury law firms, Simpson Millar LLP is already renowned for its outstanding client care. In fact, Warren himself noted the way ‘clients are represented with genuine dedication and commitment’ as one of the key reasons for joining the firm in 2011.
The previous week, on 21 November, Warren was presented with the Stephen McAleese Award for Inspiration at the annual conference of UKABIF (UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum).
As a solicitor who has devoted the past two decades to support clients with catastrophic injuries, Warren has also used his own personal experience as the partner of someone with a catastrophic brain injury to educate others about the difficulties clients and their families face.
"He has used their experience to educate associated professionals on the difficulties faced by brain injured clients and their families," wrote UKABIF about Warren and his partner. The organisation aims to promote understanding of all aspects of acquired brain injury.
The Award for Inspiration was open to all brain injury professionals, not simply lawyers, and is dedicated to those who go above the duty of their professional calling to support people and families in the most difficult circumstances.
Peter Watson, Simpson Millar LLP's managing partner said: "Warren is a lawyer whose dedication to his clients and the numerous important charities that support families at a time of great difficulty is appreciated by the wider legal and medical community. He deserves full recognition for his work and everyone at Simpson Millar LLP feels that both of these awards have been granted to the right person."
Warren himself commented: "Life after an acquired brain injury is difficult for both the individual and their loved ones. Our job as catastrophic injury lawyers is to try and predict what may lie ahead so that we can seek the appropriate level of compensation and ensure everyone is well cared for. You can only fully do that if you take a genuine interest in the lives of your clients and try to understand their unique circumstances."
