APG becomes 8th signatory of Global Code of Ethics

Associação Portuguesa de Gestão das Pessoas becomes 8th signatory

The Global Code of Ethics supports excellence in the development of coaching, mentoring, and supervision and raises the standards of practice of members. It was created by two professional associations, Association for Coaching (‘AC’) and European Mentoring and Coaching Council (‘EMCC’), in February 2016.

Since then more organisations have signed up for the Code and now we are very pleased to announce that as of 16 December 2019 Associação Portuguesa de Gestão das Pessoas (APG - Portuguese Association of People Management) also joined this growing group of signatories.

Upon becoming a signatory, Mário Ceitil, APG President, said ‘APG (Portuguese Association of People Management) and its PCG (Portuguese Coaching Group), strongly support coaching partners and institutions, such as the other co-signatories of the Global Code of Ethics, in a global context where it is more and more important to have clear, specific and practical guides to support coaches to accomplish their most noble mission: unleash the potential and evoke excellence in others.’

The current signatories continue to invite other world-wide professional bodies in the field to join this initiative and become organisational signatories.

This code has a wide impact by informing the work of people who may not be members of the signatory bodies but who practice coaching, mentoring, supervision, and training related activities or are sponsors, users, beneficiaries, and purchasers of such services – anywhere around the world.

The Code has its own dedicated website – www.GlobalCodeofEthics.org - where the code is translated into the world’s main languages. The latest version of the Global Code of Ethics can be viewed here.
