This month sees the launch of a brand new business that is set to change the way we buy insurance - and help people get back potentially thousands of pounds (previously paid out in commissions) as a cash rebate.
Selltoyourself.com has partnered with PruHealth, to offer clients something unique; hundreds - and sometimes thousands - of pounds in commission that would normally have been paid to the salesman, is being paid back to the client. [Table attached with examples]

Whilst they are launching with medical insurance, Selltoyourself will be adding both life and critical illness insurance products shortly. Mr Heywood added “It has been a challenging three year journey to get to this point, I have had to overcome many battles and obstacles along the way, but my determination has never wavered to give customers - people like you and me - a better, more affordable alternative to buying straight forward insurance products. Singlehandedly, we are starting something of a revolution; driving real change in the insurance industry.”
Historically, medical insurance providers have paid huge commissions; anywhere between 30% and 50% of the customer’s first year’s premium. Selltoyourself will repay the commission at 50%, spread over two years. Practically, this means that each client will get a 25% rebate every month, for the first twenty four months of their plan.
“The model is very simple.” says Mr Heywood “Clients are introduced to PruHealth through our website - and that of our fully regulated partner - completing a simple online application form. Staff at our Cambridgeshire offices then contact every client to confirm their details. Their application is then processed directly with PruHealth and - as soon as the first premium is paid - we start to pay back the rebated commission out of our introducers fee; slashing customers monthly premium by a quarter - every month - for the first 24 months of their policy.”
The salesman’s commission is set aside in an account managed by an Accountancy practice, similar to an ESCROW account, so the new policy holder is guaranteed to enjoy a monthly refund of 25% for the first two years of their plan.
The proposition is a simple one; identical cover for 25% less for the first two years. And, whilst it’s easy enough to understand, it’s hard to see why no one has thought of doing this before!
