Alsecco pledge to support vulnerable young people with Get Connected
Alsecco has pledged to support the inaugural Ride 999 event - a 900 mile cycle challenge, across nine countries in just nine days...
Market leading building façade brand Alsecco has announced their charity of the year will be Get Connected, the UK’s only free and confidential helpline service dedicated to helping under 25s with any issue.
Get Connected provide emotional support and signposting to further help for more than 150,000 vulnerable children and young people every year, working with a database of 9,000 trusted organisations. The service is available across six channels, 365 days a year. Demand for their service is increasing, and they expect to support more than 200,000 young people in the coming year.
Alsecco has pledged to support the inaugural Ride 999 event. This 900 mile cycle challenge, across nine countries in just nine days aims to raise enough money to run the helpline for a year. As well as sponsoring day three of the challenge, riders from Alsecco’s Belgian subsidiary, Caparol, will be joining the team through Belgium.
John Schless, Director of Fundraising at Get Connected, says: “We are delighted that Alsecco has selected us as their charity partner and are showing commitment to ensuring that young people all over the UK can find the most appropriate help and support for their situation. With this kind of support we can continue to expand our service and help even more children and young people every year.”
Ben Parry at
Alsecco, says: “We are proud to be supporting Get Connected as our charity of
the year 2015. The charity does amazing work with one of the most vulnerable
sectors of our community. A number of our staff are already in training to take
part in Ride 999 and we look forward to helping them raise funds and awareness
in this challenge and other initiatives.”
