All Ears Hearing show their support for the British Tinnitus Association

News provided by Tinnitus UK on Tuesday 5th Mar 2019

05 March 2019 – All Ears Hearing, based in Newark on Trent, have pledged their support of the British Tinnitus Association (BTA) by becoming a Corporate Member of the charity, helping to raise awareness of tinnitus and to support the BTA’s services helping those affected by the condition.

The BTA is the only national UK charity solely dedicated to those with tinnitus - a term that describes the sensation of hearing a noise in the absence of an external sound. For the last 40 years the charity has supported the one in ten people in the UK who experience tinnitus and in particular the 10% of those with tinnitus who find it severely affects their quality of life.

David Bevan, Managing Director and Senior Hearing Aid Audiologist with All Ears Hearing commented: “Having been a hearing professional for over 20 years specialising in prescribing and fitting hearing aids, and more recently wax removal, becoming increasingly aware that tinnitus management is becoming more prevalent and ever more important in providing a complete hearing care solution. Today’s modern systems are capable of providing substantial help to tinnitus sufferers and so it is vital for me to be as aware and conversant as possible with the problems tinnitus sufferers endure and to understand the range of possible solutions as I try to help my patients. I set out to be the best which is why I maintain independence, offering all makes of hearing system and providing the latest Endoscopic Microsuction wax removal; so naturally I joined the BTA to offer the best tinnitus care possible.”

Helen Goldsby-West, Head of Major Giving for the British Tinnitus Association, said: “Last year, the BTA supported over 645,000 people. To do this, we are reliant upon the generous donations of our fundraisers and supporters, and contributions from Corporate Members like All Ears Hearing. We receive no direct government support and need to raise over £800,000 this year to continue our much needed work. The Corporate Membership scheme is a great way for organisations to demonstrate their commitment to our work and the wider tinnitus community. We are extremely grateful to David and All Ears Hearing for their backing in our endeavours.”
